The EU-funded initiative facilitates access to atmospheric research infrastructures and promotes scientific innovation with the participation of international experts.
The University of Granada, through the Global Atmosphere Observatory of Andalusia (AGORA), operated by the Atmospheric Physics Group (GFAT) of the Inter-University Institute for Research on the Earth System in Andalusia (IISTA), is actively participating in the ATMO-ACCESS project, an initiative funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 programme. This project seeks to improve access to atmospheric research infrastructures, promoting international collaboration and scientific progress.
Training and advanced tools for research
ATMO-ACCESS has enabled significant advances in atmospheric research, facilitating access to technologies and expertise. Juan Vicente Pallotta, researcher at the Institute of Scientific and Technical Research for Defence (CITEDEF), and Silvânia Alves de Carvalho, professor at the Fluminense Federal University, have been beneficiaries of this project through IISTA, being able to access advanced training and tools for the improvement of the LPP (Lidar Processing Pipeline) software, developed by Pallotta to analyse lidar signals and study atmospheric aerosol particles.
