The European Researchers’ Night 2023

On the occasion of the celebration of the European Researchers Night, the Parque de las Ciencias (Science Park) and the Andalusian Institute for Earth System Research (IISTA), University of Granada (IISTA-UGR), are organizing this activity linking the facilities and laboratories of the Institute, located in the neighboring CEAMA Building, and modules of the Parque de las Ciencias. The activity will begin with a visit to some museum modules that will be explained by the researchers from IISTA themselves. In addition, the staff of the Parque de las Ciencias will guide interactive workshops to delve into these contents. Their explanations will gradually introduce us to the studies that the Institute conducts on water masses (hydrosphere) and air (atmosphere). The visit will continue through the facilities and laboratories of the CEAMA building where the researchers will explain their research work and present the facilities and tools they use for it. Among others, during the visit, participants will get to know the atmospheric observation laboratories, the boundary layer wind tunnel, and the atmosphere-ocean interaction channel, which are unique advanced research infrastructures worldwide. It will be a visit of genuine interest where resources for science that are very little known will be explained.
