The spring pollen season begins with low-moderate levels in virtually all flowering plants

The Biological Air Quality Unit (UCBA-UGR) reports that the “spring pollen season” has already begun with low-moderate levels of practically all the plants that are in bloom during this season of the year.
According to Concepción De Linares and Paloma Cariñanos, coordinators of the Biological Air Quality Unit (UCBA-UGR), of the Botany Department of the University of Granada, which carries out the monitoring of pollen levels in the city of Granada, “pollen types that use the air as a means of transport and considered spring, such as oaks, pines, maples, mulberry trees, olive trees, grasses, plantagos, parietarias, quenopodios… are already present in the atmosphere of the city of Granada. Even with low-moderate levels, they are expected to begin to increase gradually over the next few weeks”.
