The researcher from the University of Granada (UGR) Manuel Cobos Budia has been recognized by the International University of Andalusia (UNIA) with the UNIA Digital Research Award for his thesis on the consequences of human action in the Guadalquivir River estuary. A work in which he has defined a hydrodynamic model that allows evaluating the quality of its waters, with the aim of applying control strategies.
Cobos has a doctorate in dynamics of biogeochemical flows and their applications from the universities of Granada, Córdoba and Málaga, with his thesis ‘A model to study the consequences of human actions in the Guadalquivir River Estuary’ directed by professors Asunción Baquerizo and Miguel Ángel Losada .
Since 2013 he has been carrying out his research work at the Andalusian Institute for Earth System Research (IISTA) of the University of Granada. His line of work focuses on the analysis and simulation of climate and coastal processes and evolution of coastal systems with the purpose of managing the environment in a sustainable way through a comprehensive approach.
