Atmospheric Geochemistry: the DNA of the Atmosphere

The entire university community is invited to the following seminar:

Title: Atmospheric Geochemistry: the DNA of the atmosphere.

Speaker: Dr. Sonia Castillo, researcher at the University of Granada.

Location: Conference Room of the Andalusian Institute for Earth System Research (IISTA)

Day and time: Friday, January 10, 2020, at 13:00.

Summary:
Knowing the chemical composition of aerosols is an essential question to know the quality of the air we breathe and delve into other aspects such as its influence on health and ecosystems. Every source of emission of pollutants into the atmosphere has a chemical profile that leaves a footprint of chemical compounds in the air we breathe. This footprint can be distinguished within the aerosol mass using different techniques, thus making these pollutant emitting sources visible, and allowing their study and possible regulation according to the «aggressiveness» of their components.
What is the DNA of Granada’s air?
