Anomalies in CO2 Flux and ET after 13 Years of Measurements at Llano de los Juanes (Almería)

All members of the university community are invited to the following seminar:

Title: “Anomalies in CO2 and ET Fluxes after 13 Years of Measurements at Llano de los Juanes (Almería)”

Speaker: Belen Díaz Collante. Researcher at the Department of Ecology, UGR.

Location: Conference Room, Andalusian Institute for Earth System Research (IISTA)

Date: May 25, 2018

Time: 13:00

Presentation Summary:

Llano de los Juanes, located in the Sierra de Gádor (Almería), stands out as an ecosystem where both its capacity as a CO2 sink and its water cycle are conditioned by three processes: photosynthesis (GPP), heterotrophic respiration (Reco), and soil ventilation. These processes vary depending on environmental variables such as temperature, precipitation, soil moisture content, photosynthetic radiation, etc. But how do they do it? Is it possible to observe significant alterations in net CO2 flux, GPP, Reco, and ET that respond to particularly anomalous values in environmental variables? What do we consider as anomalous? After 13 years of recording the fluctuations of each of these variables, we attempt to answer these questions.
