Research conducted by the University of Granada has successfully applied a method to objectively quantify the sustainability and renewability of maritime infrastructure designed to harness wave and wind energy at sea (offshore) for the production of green hydrogen. The study, published in the Journal of Cleaner Production and led by researchers Ángel Molina Salas and Antonio Moñino Ferrando from the UGR’s Environmental Flow Dynamics Group, reveals that this energy source occupies a prominent place among renewables. The analyses carried out allow comparisons to be made with other sources of supply and lay the foundations for future implementation protocols.
