The fifth edition of the “Jornadas de Ciencia Ciudadana Lagunas de Sierra Nevada”, organized by the University of Granada and the Sierra Nevada Natural Area, was held from July 12 to 14, 2024. The event paid tribute to Antonio Castillo Martín, hydrogeologist of the CSIC. More than 50 people participated, including scientists and volunteers, who carried out studies on the biodiversity of microorganisms and the hydrological functioning of the lagoons. The conference combined scientific and artistic activities, contributing to the knowledge and conservation of high mountain ecosystems.
