The entire university community is invited to the following seminar:
Title: Allergenic aerosols in the atmosphere of Granada.
Speaker: Prof. Paloma Cariñanos of the University of Granada
Location: Conference Room of the Andalusian Institute for Earth System Research (IISTA)
Day and time: Friday, March 8, 2019, at 13:00.
Abstract:
Natural, ornamental and cultivated vegetation in the city of Granada is the main source of bioaerosol emission to the atmosphere. This allergenic aerosol is the main cause of adverse reactions in almost 30% of the local population. The bioclimatic, biogeographical, urbanistic and landscape characteristics of the environment have made Granada one of the Spanish cities with the highest presence of allergenic aerosol in the atmosphere. To this we must add some meteorological processes that facilitate its accumulation. This seminar will review some of the causes that have generated the increase in the allergenic load of the air, the main allergens and their trends.
